Bakya mo Neneng

      In old times, Filipino women used to love to wear wooden sandals called Bakya. Santiago Suarez then wrote a song called Bakya Mo Neneng, referring to the Bakya that his lover used to wear often. It is an old folk song from Luzon. This ballad is about a man who wonders why his former sweetheart isn't wearing the wooden shoe he gave her any longer; in hopes that she will not throw them away. In this piece, incorporating the styles of Modern Contemporary and Ballet. Usually, more on foot works representing the Bakya and at the same time showing movements of longing.
