Cordillera
Photographs can be a proof and a reminder that something had happened and how amazing that something was. The photograph features a Filipiñiana Dance Troupe showcasing the beauty of the Cordillera people. The Cordillera are pagan people, who are joyful with living a simple life gratifying their gods. Fortunately, the culture was able to survive and maintain itself despite the changing scope of the Philippines. Cordillera means “knotted rope,” which was given to them by the Spanish Conquistadors.

Dancing has become one of the many ways people do to express their inner feelings, culture, and so on. The Cordillera people dance to express their emotions, beliefs, to animate life, and to remove negativity and bad luck. There are different kinds of Cordillera dances, which are Banga, Bendayan, Manmanok, Turayen, Tarektek, Uyaoy; this showcases the different personalities and strength of the Cordillera people.
