Usahay

Dance Interpretation by Ria Alfaro

Usahay is an old classic love song from Visayas. Usahay, when translated, means 'sometimes.' This is one of the most famous ballads that most of our grandparents love to play on their old radios or CD players. This is about a modern-day love; a song for two lovers who didn't have a happy ending to their love story where the composer regrets falling in love with someone who isn't loyal to their relationship. In this song, she still reminisces about the times she had with her lover and even dreams about him. With that, it is seen in the dance showing movements of longing and regrets. In the end, she still chose to get up and recover and leave from the pain that she felt.
