Filipinos love gathering and entertaining friends and family. No Filipino feast is complete without Lechon. In the Philippine culture, serving a delicious well-roasted Lechon is an excellent way of showing guests their importance. It was the Spaniards who gave Filipinos the idea of roasting whole suckling pigs. They leveraged on the use of pork, promoted different recipes until it blended into the Filipino tradition and culture. They were able to convert many people to Christianity by making them eat pork meat.

The photograph was taken from Pagadian, a city from Mindanao. They recently launched their 1st Lechon festival. This promotes not only the city and the region but also the tradition of people regarding festivities.

The photograph captures the love for food and festivities among people from Pagadian.

It signifies the labor of love which depicts oneness and life simplicity. Filipinos throughout Mindanao showed that their lechons are as good as the famous Lechons in Luzon and Mindanao. Their equally talented chefs and creativity to come up with different versions were truly amazing.
